Words that served as an inspiration behind this painting: Marriage, Expectations, Capabilities

This painting shows an Indian woman who has her hands tied with the “thaali”, supposedly a symbol of marriage. Her skin seems to be made up of the universe and stars. The background is covered with blue flames. SHE is a powerful and influential figure. SHE is capable of doing so many things, from making her home to ruling a country. But her other half has always been considered as a dominant being, and because of this, her capabilities and potentials have been suppressed to the extent where she is not even able to voice out her feelings and opinions. SHE should be given equal rights, in and out of marriage. SHE should be given a chance to show what SHE’s capable of. SHE has the whole universe in her. SHE deserves freedom.

REMINDER: This story is a realistic fictional narrative, however certain elements and the context in which the story takes place is based on true factual information and inspiration drawn from the artist's real life experiences.
